I've written a new piece for the sound art exhibit BAMBOULA NOLA opening October 25th. It's on the front steps of the Woldenberg Art Center on Tulane Campus, New Orleans. The work "Knew Enough To Know Better" will only be on view when the sun goes away to hide.
Blurby: When asked to make a site specific piece the stairwell of the Woldenberg Art Center jumped to mind. Many hours have been spent with me sitting on the steps taking a break, warming in the sun and having a chin wag. Every evening as the sun goes down the handsome lantern turns on and along with it a diabolical noise. Happily the noise drew me to the acoustic properties of the space and encouraged me to make a piece to challenge and cooperate with the sound. Maybe I could just have told facility services to fix the light but sure, where would the fun be in that? Comments are closed.
