Drink Up the Moon
Two-channel video, stereo sound, 7-minute loop
Drink Up the Moon plays in tandem with You Never Regret the Swim
I have absolutely loved filming the moon. I love watching to see when it will rise and if there will be a clear sky, I love setting my alarm to get up at silly o'çlock so I can see it wane, and I love what I hear when I get up at that time. By observing the moon constantly and following its phases from new moon to full moon and back to black again, I've learnt so much and witnessed such beauty. The more I follow the moon, the more in tune I am with my own body, the tides and the world around me. Our ancestors watched the same moon as us and were far more in tune with it and natural cycles than we are. It has some pull if we let it. When I tell people that I am filming the moon, often full moon stories are quick to follow. I feel this is a project that might continue for some time.
