Arts Council Digital Artist in Residence at the CCT, UofG

The inaugural Arts Council Digital Artist in Residence to be based at the Centre for Creative Technologies is Jane Cassidy.

Jane is a multi-disciplinary artist and educator living in Galway City. Cassidy’s work spans installation, video, music composition and electronics to create immersive audiovisual environments. Her main interest lies in multi-sensory work, creating a sense of synesthesia for the viewer, most often in response to the mysticism of nature.

Trained in music and visual art, Cassidy earned a Masters in Music and Media Technologies from Trinity College Dublin and an MFA in Digital Art from Tulane University in New Orleans. 

Dr Conn Holohan, Director of the Centre for Creative Technologies, University of Galway, said: “We are delighted to welcome Jane Cassidy to the Centre for Creative Technologies as the University of Galway Digital Artist in Residence. Jane’s commitment to co-creation and inclusive digital arts practice resonates strongly with the ethos and activities of the Centre. We are particularly excited about the opportunities this residency creates for students, academic researchers, and the wider creative community to engage directly with Jane’s work through workshops, co-creative projects, and public events, expanding access to the digital arts across the campus and beyond.”
